“HopeQuest helps addicted men and their families discover God’s plan for freedom and hope.” They have five levels of care including Residential Treatment, Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP), Outpatient Counseling, Sober Living, and Support Groups. They treat a variety of issues spanning from various Substance Addictions,  Process Addictions (Sex, Pornography, Gambling, etc.), and Co-Occurring Disorders.   They are also CARF accredited, and their program is time-tested, having been established more than 20 years ago.

This is my number one recommendation in the country for Addiction Therapy. While my addiction caused me to lose my home, my job, my marriage, and my community, I can honestly say that I would not have survived my life circumstances without them. They do an excellent job of treating the whole person: Body, Mind, and Spirit. HopeQuest staffs five or six Licensed Professional Counselors who have acquired specialized credentials such as  C-SAT’s (Certified Sex Addiction Therapist) as well as other professional certifications such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and LMFT (Life Marriage & Family Therapist). The clients who come through the program receive two individual counseling sessions a week (more if needed), five group therapy sessions a week, and undergo a robust curriculum on Recovery each weekday during their residential stay. The food, housing accommodations, and recreational opportunities are excellent.

One thing that really makes HopeQuest stand out from other Addiction Treatment Centers is that the spouse of the man in the Residential Program also receives support from a Spouse Supporting Therapist. In addition to offering support for the client’s spouse, they also offer some family therapy sessions during their “Reclaiming Families” weekend.  HopeQuest also offers continued connection after the client has gone through the program in the form of weekly zoom meetings where alumni have the chance to get together and continue to pursue Recovery together no matter where they are in the country. I truly cannot recommend this place enough! If you are looking for a resource, especially for a facility that offers Christ Centered – Clinically Effective Residential Inpatient Care, look no further than HopeQuest.

FirstLight is a Christian, sexual discipleship ministry and non-profit organization based in St. Louis, MO that has been around for over 15 years. They are passionate about offering care and support to both men and women who struggle with sexual integrity issues. They routinely run several different Stage Groups for their participants who meet with trained facilitators on a weekly basis to work on a curriculum that has been crafted and developed by them. Outside of the Stage Groups, FirstLight also offers a wide variety of check-in meetings, both in person and online that are open to any client within their community.

What makes FirstLight an especially good choice for those struggling with addictive and compulsive sexual behavior, is that they offer support groups for spouses of the clients that meet regularly to walk through the heartache and struggles that come with battling addiction alongside their spouse.

FirstLight also offers individual counseling services for clients in need and act as a huge resource for churches in the area who are looking for training on addiction support and recovery as well as ways to get involved  in the fight against addiction.
